Colts Take On Falcons in German Capital – Week 10 NFL Action
Guten tag, fussball enthusiasts. How are you? Everything good I trust on this excellent early start to the tenth week coming straight outta Deutschland. The Olympiastadion in Berlin to be precise where at 8.30am CST/9.30am EST and 2.30pm GMT the mighty Colts (7-2) take on the Atlanta Falcons (3-5). The fifth game played on German soil and the initial in the capital city.
Pregame Key Moments
When it comes to glittering attire that is an real standout from Katarina Witt on the opening flip. A slight fluff from Sky Sports there as we hear “who won the toss?” from the commentator with an accidentally live microphone.
So, the Colts have won the toss and have chosen to get the ball first. The Colts' offense will be taking the field soon. Will the QB bounce back after a difficult performance in Pittsburgh?
In a similar vein the singer belting out the Star Spangled Banner has some of the biggest shoulder embellishments you are bound to notice. The fashion picks are impressive today. The game is about to start after a choral number for the German anthem. Elegant.
First Quarter Action
Scoreless at 13:30 in the first
And we're off! And we have early drama after the Colts running back receives a short throw, gains 15 yards on the outside to the right side then loses the ball … only for his center to recover the fumble with the ball retrieval. Colts are in Falcons territory already.
Colts 0-0 Falcons 10:51, 1st quarter
And the excitement continues as the Colts go for it on 4th down. The risk doesn't work out as Josh Downs cannot reel in a quick pass from the quarterback. Prior to the failed attempt Jessie Bates put a huge hit on the Colts' tight end. Atlanta's defense started strong as they try and snap their string of three losses. Next up Sauce Garner’s debut!
Touchdown Recap
TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-0 Falcons 8:36, 1st quarter
Did Kyle Pitts just drop a touchdown? The tight end drops a clanger, he was wide open but the ball just swishes through his hands. That play rather sums up the high draft pick's professional journey to date.
So far, so disappointing but it only deteriorates for the Atlanta as they cough the ball back to the Indianapolis on the 23-yard mark. Michael Penix Jr is sacked and fumbles the football.
A nifty 22-yard run from the Colts receiver sets the running back up to easily run for a touchdown on the next snap. Kicker Michael Badgley skews the extra point wide. Oops.
TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-7 Falcons 6:07, 1st quarter
The quarterback recovers from the turnover by marching his Falcons down the field for a touchdown. Drake London makes some chunky receptions to put them in the scoring area then the seas part for Tyler Allgeier to saunter on to the goal line through the heart of the field for 13 yards. The running back finishes it off for a short scoring run of his own. Advantage Atlanta.
