Palestinian-American Teenager Liberated Following Nine Months in Israeli Imprisonment

An Palestinian-American youth having endured a nine-month period in Israel's custody without charge was released.

The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim was 15 when he was arrested this past winter within the occupied West Bank, during a family visit while residing in Florida accused of stone-throwing against settlement residents, allegations he repeatedly contested.

The US state department said it welcomed Mohammed's liberation.

Currently aged sixteen, was taken to hospital for treatment immediately after release, according to close relatives.

According to them, he appears pale, underweight, while battling health issues acquired while detained.

In a statement, the youth's uncle spoke of the family's "overwhelming sense of relief".

Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "living a horrific and endless nightmare" over the last nine months.

"At this moment, our priority is providing Mohammed with prompt healthcare necessary for his recovery following exposure to mistreatment by authorities and cruel circumstances throughout his detention."

US officials announced ongoing to extend consular services to Mohammed's family.

{"US government authorities gives utmost importance to the protection and welfare of US citizens"," officials stated.

Twenty-seven US lawmakers endorsed a document to the state department and the White House, demanding more be done to release him.

Mr Ibrahim, a father-of-four operating an ice cream shop from Florida, had earlier stated his child admitted guilt to throwing stones because the soldiers beat him.

The father hadn't visited nor direct contact since February, receiving updates exclusively about his son's condition through judicial records.

He stayed without charge within Ofer penitentiary in the West Bank.

It is also home to adult prisoners, some of whom have been convicted of serious terrorism offences and murder.

Approximately several hundred young Palestinian detainees detained within Israeli facilities, per correctional service statistics.

Several lack formal charges along with monitoring agencies, and international organizations, say some have suffered physical abuse and torture.

Following Mohammed's release, Mr Kadur said relatives would persist in advocating for justice for his cousin their cousin Sayfollah.

This young American-Palestinian who the Palestinian health ministry said died from beating by radical settlers following tensions during summer.

During that period, the Israeli military said they were examining accounts of a Palestinian was deceased.

Both young men were employed together in the family ice cream shop in Tampa, Florida.

No one has been charged with Sayfollah's killing.
