Two Individuals Accused Over Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Attack
Two individuals are now facing charges in connection with a suitcase robbery where a suspected irritant spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and charges for deploying a toxic agent, according to official statements.
The charges follow an probe of an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their suitcases taken after getting out of a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.
A toddler was one of the people hurt in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to a medical facility and were eventually allowed to go home.
This event – which authorities stated was not part of a series and not being treated as terrorism – caused disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
